Description

Dive into a culinary experience that epitomizes both flavor and nourishment with Hamachi, also known as Yellowtail. A star in the renowned recipe, "Hamachi Jalapeno" by Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, this yellowtail kingfish is renowned for its luxurious, rich texture that is both firm and buttery. This unique texture places it at the center stage in various culinary presentations, allowing for an indulgent and satisfying mouthfeel with each bite. With a unique combination of a mild yet rich profile, it offers a harmonious blend of subtle sweetness coupled with a slight umami undertone, providing an exceptional base for a range of culinary creations, both raw and cooked. Ideally relished as sashimi or sushi, its tender flesh harmoniously marries with a variety of flavors, promising a culinary venture that tantalizes the taste buds while nourishing the body.

Hamachi shines brightly in Japanese cuisine, especially as a centerpiece in sashimi and sushi preparations where its natural flavors are celebrated with minimalistic seasonings, offering a pure and unmatched dining experience. Apart from raw preparations, Hamachi can be grilled to perfection, where its high-fat content ensures moist and flavorful flesh, developing a delightful, charred note when exposed to high heat. Hamachi is not only a gastronomic delight but also a treasure trove of nutrients. It is a rich source of high-quality proteins and Omega-3 fatty acids, which are known for their beneficial effects on cardiovascular health. Additionally, it supplies a healthy dose of vitamins like B12, adding a healthful touch to its culinary appeal.

Hamachi was a bit dry. Not suitable for sashimi.
Will use them for teriyaki.
